We keep a mixed flock of organically fed heritage and hybrid hens, using a mobile coop to graze them through our orchard pasture. They are fed a mix of organic nutritionally balanced formulated feed and organic whole grains. Chickens kept on pasture can also obtain up to 30% of their diet from eating grass and forbs- that is why the yolks of our free range eggs are such a beautiful orange!
